2024 Employee Health Fair is Friday, Sept.20
The health fair is open to all city employees and retirees.

- Friday, Sept. 20
- 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
- Ross Norton Recreation Center, 1426 S. M.L.K. Jr. Ave.
At the health fair, attendees can:
- Get open enrollment assistance
- Learn about MotivateMe and Omada incentive programs
- Get free health screenings
- Sign up for a recreation center pass
- Receive a free massage
- Learn how to make Clearwater thrive
- Meet with vendors
- Participate in cardio drumming
- Play games and earn prizes
- Participate in United Way kick-off activities
Employees must be present at the health fair to receive the giveaway bags.
Open enrollment begins Sept. 20 and ends Oct. 11 at 5 p.m. Reach out to Human Resources with questions.

Motivate Me Deparment Challenge Is On!
Have you completed your screenings? Last day to complete screenings for 2024 incentives is Oct. 31.
 Complete the following steps for Motivate Me to have your department entered into the challenge.
- Complete your Motivate Me gatekeepers by Oct. 31. This includes your wellness screening and the online health assessment found at MyCigna.com.
- Encourage your co-workers to complete their screenings as well.
- The top three departments with the most participation win a prize!*
*NOTE: Department winners will be based on participation percentage. Only employees that complete the gatekeepers will receive the reward. If you do not participate toward the department goal, you will not receive a reward.

Pickleball for City Employees Returns!
Games are every Wednesday starting Sept. 11 and go for eight weeks.
Pickleball returns for city employees. Games are played every Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m., Sept. 11 to Oct. 30 at the Long Center, 1501 N. Belcher Road.

City of Clearwater Golf League Rates Available to Employees

 Clearwater Country Club is offering league rates to all city employees. The league rate is as follows:
- $20 + tax = $21.40 for 9 holes
- Available to city employees and guests
- After 5 p.m.
- Must call ahead to set up a tee time
This rate is available on Monday, Tuesday and Friday. Bring your city ID with you.

Volunteer as a Lunch Pal
 It's almost time for school to begin and administrators are searching for mentors for next school year. Mentors change the lives of thousands of Pinellas County students each week. Research has shown that mentoring helps improve their grades, attendance, behavior, social interactions with adults and outlook on school.
One-on-one mentoring sessions are designed to meet at least twice per month for 30 minutes on the student's lunch break.

The Employee Health Center has a lot to offer employees and retirees. It is located at 401 Corbett St. Suite #400, Clearwater. Hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call (727) 298-1788 to make an appointment.

Get a Healthy Upgrade This Summer
Add a little movement to help reach your health goals.
 Summer is the best time to add a little more movement to your daily routine, and it’s easier than you think with help from Omada. Omada is a virtual health care program that helps members make small, simple habit changes to reach their health goals – big or small – whether that’s improving eating habits, exercising more, or feeling healthier.
Here are some quick tips from an Omada health coach on how to upgrade your movement routine without missing out on summer fun: • Explore on foot during your vacation to get more steps in. • Take on a fun new outdoor activity, such as pickleball or hiking. • Go for a walk after a meal to get some vitamin D and help with digestion.
If you or your covered adult dependents are enrolled in the city's medical plan offered through Cigna, are at risk for type 2 diabetes or heart disease, and are accepted into the program, you'll receive the program at no cost to you.

BayCare Offers Mammogram Event for City Employees
 Designed especially for city of Clearwater employees, this VIP program gives first access to appointments and an exclusive gift for participants. For city of Clearwater employees and their covered spouses, their 3D mammogram screening is covered at 100% as an annual wellness screening once per calendar year for women over 40.*

Prioritize Your Self-Care to Feel Your Best, Healthy Self
Research has shown self-care can help prevent the negative consequences of stress and promote well-being.
 Omada can help you keep the focus on self-care and achieve your health goals. As an Omada member, you will get paired with a health coach who will provide guidance on food choices, exercise goals, and tips to lower stress.
Here are some small changes from an Omada health coach that you can start now:
- For better sleep, stay off electronics (phone, tv, etc.) one hour before bed.
- Get some movement in daily, ideally outdoors, such as a short walk.
- Build in an activity you enjoy to each week: read, play a game, take a bath, or watch something funny.
