Free Park-and-Ride Service Returns to Clearwater Beach

The service starts Feb. 25 and runs through April 27, 2024.

The city of Clearwater has teamed up with the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority to make your trip to Clearwater Beach easier during spring break season. Park & Ride is a program that offers beach visitors a place to park in a free designated lot, and then ride the trolley to the beach for free. Trolley Park & Ride service runs:

• Monday through Thursday, every 30 minutes from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
• Friday to Sunday, every 15 minutes from 10 a.m. to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays and until 10 p.m. on Sundays

Park for free any day of the week at the former Clearwater City Hall location, 112 S. Osceola Ave., or 200 Osceola Ave., and board for free there, at the Clearwater Beach Transit Center or the Clearwater Beach Marina. Return service to the parking lot boards at the Clearwater Beach Marina, 25 Causeway Blvd. in Clearwater.

Additional parking is available Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the following locations: 

• 310 Court St. (County Garage) (available anytime Saturday and Sunday)
• 200 Osceola Ave.

"Clearwater Beach continues to thrive as one of the top destinations in the state of Florida. While there is plenty of room to spread out over three miles of our sugar sand beaches, finding a place to park your vehicle can be challenging at times,” said Lisa Chandler, operator of the Pier 60 concessions and founder of the Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival. “Alternative modes of transportation like the Jolley Trolley, buses and water taxi services are crucial to the success of our barrier-island economy and vitality, as they offer a convenient, cost-effective way to experience the best of Clearwater Beach.”

More than 50,000 vehicles drive through the Clearwater Beach roundabout on a typical spring break day. This is the sixth year PSTA and the city have partnered to provide enhanced public transportation services as an alternative to driving and parking at the beach.

Become a Volunteer for the 2024 Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival

If so, the Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival presented by Visit St. Pete-Clearwater is seeking energetic volunteers to assist with the return of its unique festival – and celebrating its tenth year – on Clearwater Beach March 29 to April 14. Pay by Text When Parking in Clearwater

The city of Clearwater introduces Pay by Text, a new parking service that is available to beach and downtown visitors to pay for their parking sessions. This new payment option makes it easier for people to pay for their parking directly from their phones, without the need for an account or app.

How it works:

• Park your vehicle.
• Text ‘CLEARWATER’ to 727563
• Receive a secure link to input your parking details, including license plate number, duration, and payment information.
• Confirm the details to start your parking session.

This new service is PCI-DSS certified, ensuring the protection of motorists’ data. After completing the parking session, payment information is encrypted, with the option for future convenience by storing the card number on the mobile device.

If visitors prefer to pay for parking in more traditional ways, they can continue to use parking kiosks, Parkmobile, and the Flowbird mobile app.
