Attire
Dress is casual. You will receive your Citizens Academy tshirt and name tag on the first night of Citizens Academy. After the first night, please wear your Citizens Academy polo shirt and name tag to each session.
Questions and Concerns
The program is designed to be an open forum for discussion, and we encourage your questions and comments – whether that be praise or criticism – as long as the discussion is constructive to the subject at hand.
Oftentimes, there may be more questions than there is time, and we may need to prioritize questions that benefit the good of the group. If your question is hyperlocal or specific to you, try to save your question for after the Q&A period or a later date when staff can give you individual attention and resources.
Evaluation Form
Each week, you be emailed an online evaluation form online to fill out stating what you liked about the program and what could be improved. This helps us improve Citizens Academy for future participants.
Curriculum Book
Each participant will receive a curriculum book with each city department's contact information, services and objectives. Throughout the program, we may need to update it as new information becomes available. We will also make our best effort to provide copies of powerpoint presentations when available to add to your binders.
