Bonded Transportation Program- Road construction is beginning for the Clay County Bonded Transportation Program projects in Middleburg, Green Cove Springs, and Lake Asbury. Acorn Chase (Orange Park) – Anticipate daytime, single-lane closures starting soon on Acorn Chase between both sides of the Tower Oaks Drive loop for a drainage improvement project.
Grove Park Lane and Grove Park Drive North (Orange Park) - Anticipate daytime, single-lane closures starting soon on Grove Park Lane and Grove Park Drive North from Grove Park Drive East to Grove Park Drive West for a drainage improvement project.
Habitat Drive (Middleburg) – Anticipate daytime, single-lane closures starting soon on Habitat Drive from Baxley Road to Yukon Court for a drainage improvement project. Phase one of this project will include repairing and lowering the drainage structures.
Industrial Loop (Orange Park) – County crews will soon begin drainage repairs on Industrial Loop in the Bellair-Meadowbrook Terrace area. Anticipate daytime single-lane closures weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. once work begins.
Oak Drive South (Fleming Island) - County crews will soon begin drainage repairs on Oak Drive South in Fleming Island. Anticipate daytime single-lane closures weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. once work begins.
New county Projects
Henley Road (Lake Asbury) – Stormwater system upgrades begin the week of March 20 at the 2700 block of Henley Road north of Orchard Walk Lane. Both northbound lanes of Henley Road will be closed for construction. The two existing southbound lanes on Henley Road will be temporarily shifted to one northbound and one southbound lane for the entire project. During construction, the entranceway to Orchard Walk Lane will be closed to traffic and all in and out traffic will be detoured to the south entrance at Plantation Ridge. The northbound sidewalk on Henley Road will be diverted but remain open. Work is anticipated to take up to three months to complete, including milling and resurfacing.
Ongoing County Projects
Anabelle Island Subdivision (Green Cove Springs/Lake Asbury)- Intermittent, daytime, single-lane closures weekdays on County Road 209 and on Sandridge Road near the Anabelle Island subdivision for asphalt paving and utility work.
Aquarius Concourse (Orange Park)- Daytime, single-lane closures on Aquarius Concourse from Blairmore Boulevard West to Auriga Drive for a combined CCUA utility relocation and county road and drainage improvement project.
Camp Ridge Lane (Middleburg)- Crews continue to repair the drainage structures in the 1300 block of Camp Ridge Lane. Anticipate temporary, single-lane closures on weekdays.
Rosemary Street and Myrtle Street (Middleburg)- Daytime, single-lane closures continuing for a paving project on Rosemary Street between Blanding Blvd. and Myrtle Street and on Myrtle Street from Indigo Avenue to Alligator Blvd.
Sandridge Road (Lake Asbury)– Anticipate single-lane closures anytime between 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sandridge Road from Henley Road to Russell Road (CR209) for utility relocation and installation work. Contractors are coordinating with the school board and intend to complete construction in front of the Lake Asbury elementary and junior high schools during the summer break to minimize traffic impacts. Road closure and detour are scheduled to begin in late May. Please be patient while driving in the area, go slowly, and pay attention to the flag crews.
Sharron Road (South of Middleburg) – Milling and resurfacing work was completed on Sharron Road from State Road 21 to where the pavement ends. Striping work is complete, and crews will be making additional project repairs after logging operations in that area are complete.
FDOT Projects
Blanding Boulevard at Black Creek (Middleburg) - Daytime northbound lane closures Monday, March 20, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for routine bridge maintenance.
State Road 21 Resurfacing from State Road 16 in Penney Farms to Commercial Circle in Keystone Heights- Resurface 16 miles of roadway, add a center turn lane near Gold Head Branch State Park, drainage improvements, and other incidental construction. Work is expected to be completed in fall 2023.

State Road 21 from State Road 100 to State Road 16- Daytime lane closures with flaggers weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for roadside work.
U.S. 301 from County Road 218 to Mosely Road (Clay Hill)- Construct 52 new concrete test sections, new stormwater pond, traffic signals, lighting, highway signage, guardrail, drainage, asphalt paving, and other incidental construction. Work is expected to be completed in summer of 2023.

First Coast Expressway (FCE) Work FDOT
First Coast Expressway North - State Road 23 from State Road 21 to north of State Road 16 (Middleburg) - Construct 10.5 miles of new multi-lane, limited-access toll road with drainage system, stormwater ponds, traffic signals, lighting, signage, guardrails, three tolling facilities, 26 new bridges, noise walls, and retaining walls. Construction began in March 2019 and is expected to be completed in early 2025.

County Road 220 at State Road 23- Daytime lane closures with flaggers Saturday, March 18, and Monday, March 20 through Saturday, March 25 from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. to deliver construction materials.
First Coast Expressway South -State Road 23 from north of S.R. 16 to east of C.R. 209 (Green Cove Springs) - Construct 9.7 miles of new multi-lane, limited-access, toll road with drainage system, stormwater ponds, traffic signals, lighting, signage, guardrails, 15 new bridges, and two tolling facilities. Construction began in April 2019 and is expected to be completed in early 2025.
