Leaf Collection
Due to inclement snow and winter weather conditions forecasted for the District this coming weekend, the District Snow Team will mobilize to pre-treat the streets with salt to minimize road hazards. In order to accomplish this, DPW will need to augment our crews and equipment from leaf collection duties to snow duties.
We want you to know that the aesthetics of our community are important to us. DPW's primary priority is keeping the District clean, safe, and beautiful. Therefore, our leaf collection services will resume as soon as possible after the snow event.
DPW crews will continue leaf collections in Section A in Wards 1-8 as soon as weather conditions permit.
Section B in Wards 1-8, your second pass at leaf collection will now begin January 13th.
Residents in Section B, have your leaves at the tree box or curbside by Sunday, January 12, 2025. Visit https://dpw.dc.gov/leaf to learn about leaf collection and when we will be in your neighborhood. Not sure what section you live in? Find your section at Leaf Collection | dpw (dc.gov) https://dpw.dc.gov/leaf Leaf collection schedule updates are made every Friday by 5 pm. All sections will receive two weekends’ notice of when to rake their leaves out.
