Weekday Sidewalk, Lane, and Road Closures for Multiple Locations

(WASHINGTON, DC) — The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) advises stakeholders to expect delays due to upcoming sidewalk closures for work related to the DC Power Line Undergrounding (DC PLUG) initiative.
There will be no full roadway closure; however, sidewalks and lanes will be restricted during work hours.
Traffic controls, including signage, will be in place to guide motorists safely through the work zones. All roadway users are advised to remain alert and observe signage and work zones while traveling in these areas.
Sidewalks, roads, and lane closures are listed below and will take place from June 1 to 30, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- Temporary eastbound and westbound sidewalk, lane, and road closure for PCC restoration and Milling/Paving from the 3800 block of Legation Street NW, from Connecticut Avenue NW to 39th Street NW
- Temporary eastbound and westbound sidewalk, lane, and road closure for installation of conduits from the 3800 - 3900 blocks of Livingston Street NW from 39th Street NW to Connecticut Avenue NW
- Temporary eastbound and westbound sidewalk, lane, and road closure for installation of Transformer Enclosures, Tapholes, Manholes, and conduits from the 3500 - 3700 blocks of Livingston Street NW from Nevada Avenue NW to Connecticut Avenue NW
- Temporary eastbound and westbound sidewalk, lane, and road closure for installation of conduits from the 3800-3900 blocks of Northampton Street NW from Belt Road NW to Connecticut Avenue NW
- Temporary eastbound and westbound sidewalk, lane, and road closure for installation of manhole and conduits from the 3800 block of Morrison Street NW from 39th Street NW to Connecticut Avenue NW
- Temporary northbound and southbound sidewalk, lane, and road closure for installation of conduits from the 5100-5300 blocks of Nebraska Avenue NW from Military Road NW to Connecticut Avenue NW
- Temporary eastbound and westbound sidewalk, lane, and road closure for installation of manholes, Transformer Enclosures, and Tapholes from the 3900 block of McKinley Street NW from 39th Street NW to Belt Road NW
- Temporary eastbound and westbound sidewalk, lane, and road closure for installation of manholes, transformer enclosures, tapholes, and conduits from the 5500 - 5700 blocks of Nevada Avenue NW from Livingston Street NW to Oliver Street NW
This work is necessary to complete the DC PLUG initiative’s Feeder 467 project, which involves undergrounding power lines for a more resilient DC.
