DC DMV Commemorates the Juneteenth Holiday
June 19, 1866, is the oldest national celebration of the ending of slavery in the United States, commemorating freedom, resilience, and the power of unity.
At DC DMV, we recognize this day celebrating the journey and freedom of those who were enslaved in America.
Whether it's using the metro or a ride share service, having a designated driver, or calling a sober friend -- plan for a sober ride not just on holiday weekend but every day, DC!
DC DMV Closure Reminders:
- In recognition of Juneteenth, all DC DMV locations will be closed on Friday, June 19.
- In recognition of Independence Day, all DC DMV locations will be closed on Friday, July 3 and Saturday July 4.
Many of DC DMV's services will remain available online or via the agency's free mobile app. Drive safe, DC!

 DC DMV in the Community
DC DMV recently participated in the DC Department of Parks and Recreation and the DC Department of Aging and Community Living's annual Senior Block Party on Wednesday May 20. It was a fun-filled event with live music, food and dancing all dedicated to District residents over 55.
The DMV Correspondence team looks forward to engaging with District seniors each year, honoring our commitment to serving our city's most vulnerable residents, and ensuring that senior drivers are able to access the DMV resources they need through our community outreach efforts. For more helpful driver safety information geared towards residents 55 and older, learn more from the DC Highway Safety Office here.
