Theodore Roosevelt Bridge (I-66) Eastbound Lane Closure for Scheduled for Bridge Deck Installation
(WASHINGTON, DC) — The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will begin placement of new bridge deck panels on the Theodore Roosevelt Bridge. This work will reduce I-66 Eastbound (inbound) lanes on the bridge to one lane beginning March 23, 2026, through April 4, 2026, between the hours of 9:00 pm to 5:00 am. During certain portions of the work the traffic will be stopped briefly to set the new deck panels into position. These stoppages will occur in 15–20-minute increments and are necessary for deck panel installations due to space limitations on the bridge.
Motorists are advised to plan ahead and use alternate routes during the closure window. DDOT encourages all travelers to stay alert and follow posted signage for safe and efficient travel through the area.
