DLCP Important Notice: DLCP/OPL Security Program Transfer Policy Update Effective Immediately

To: All Active Security Agencies and Affiliated Officers

Effective immediately, the following policy applies to all individual officer transfers:

  1. Transfer Work Period: All transfer applications received will allow individual officers (Security Officers, Special Police Officers, Special Campus Police and Private Detectives) to continue working for the hiring agency for a period not to exceed fifteen (15) days while the transfer application is being processed for approval.
  2. Eligibility Requirements:
  • The individual officer’s current license must be in an active, unexpired status.
  • The transfer must not be the result of termination or dismissal from the transferring from agency.
    • If termination or dismissal occurs, the current agency must notify DLCP/OPL Security Program immediately.
  • It is understood that the individual officer has been officially hired by the transferring agency stated in the employment letter.
  • Application Review Outcome:
  • If, during the review period, the individual officer’s application is denied, the application will be deemed not approved.
  • The officer’s current active license will be placed in an “inactive” status, and the officer must not be allowed to work until resolved.
