Overnight Lane Closures to Impact Theodore Roosevelt Bridge (I-66) Jan. 7 through Jan. 9
(WASHINGTON, DC) — The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will initiate overnight lane closures on the Theodore Roosevelt Bridge eastbound (Inbound) along with the EB I-66 ramp to Independence Avenue from January 7, 2026 to January 9, 2026, with intermittent 15-minute full closures of all lanes between 12:00 AM and 5:00 AM on January 8, 2026.
These closures are necessary for the removal of the existing overhead sign structure on the east end of the bridge. The removal of the sign and its future replacement are key components of the rehabilitation of the Theodore Roosevelt Bridge.
Motorists are advised to plan ahead and use alternate routes during the closure window. DDOT encourages all travelers to stay alert and follow posted signage for safe and efficient travel through the area.
