Temporary Lane Closures for Bridge Preventive Maintenance

(WASHINGTON, DC) — The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close single lanes on the following roadways for bridge preventive maintenance construction activities during the period of Dec 15-19, 2025, weather permitting.
Operation hours and locations are listed below:
Whitehurst Freeway over K St NW (BR 32), temporary single lane closures on December 15 and 16, 2025, during the hours of 9:30 AM and 3:30 PM, weather permitting for bridge preventive maintenance work and bridge scupper cleaning.
SW Freeway over New Jersey Ave (BR 1109), temporary single lane closures on December 17 and 18, 2025 during the hours of 9:30 AM and 3:30 PM, weather permitting for bridge preventive maintenance work and bridge scupper cleaning.
SW Freeway over S. Capitol St. (BR 1104), temporary single lane closures on December 19, 2025 during the hours of 9:30 AM and 3:30 PM, weather permitting for bridge preventive maintenance work and bridge scupper cleaning.
M St. over S. Capitol St. (BR 11), temporary single lane closures on December 16 thru 19, 2025 during the hours of 9:30 AM and 3:30 PM, weather permitting for bridge preventive maintenance work.
Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers approaching the areas. Motorists should anticipate moderate-to-heavy delays due to the lane closures. Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the inspection personnel.
