Weekday Sidewalk, Lane, and Road Closures for Multiple Locations
DC PLUG Feeder 14093

(WASHINGTON, DC) — The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) advises stakeholders to expect delays due to upcoming sidewalk closures for work related to the DC Power Line Undergrounding (DC PLUG) initiative.

There will be no full roadway closure; however, sidewalks and lanes will be restricted during work hours.

Traffic controls, including signage, will be in place to guide motorists safely through the work zones. All roadway users are advised to remain alert and observe signage and work zones while traveling in these areas.

Sidewalk, Road and lane closures are listed below and will take place from December 4 to 31, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

• Temporary northbound and southbound sidewalk, lane and road closures for the installation of manholes, Transformer Enclosures and Tapholes from the 2700 to 3200 blocks of 13^th Street NE fromKearney Street NE to Rhode Island Avenue NE
• Temporary eastbound and westbound sidewalk, lane and road closure for installation of manholes, Transformer Enclosures and Tapholes from the 1200-1300 blocks of Jackson Street NE from 12th Street NE to 14^th Street NE
• Temporary eastbound and westbound sidewalk, lane and road closure for installation of manholes, Transformer Enclosures and Tapholes from the 1200 block of Irving Street NE from 12^th Street NE to13^th Street NE
• Temporary southbound and westbound sidewalk, lane and road closure for installation of manholes, Transformer Enclosures and Tapholes from the 1200-1300 blocks of Hamlin Street NE from 12^thStreet NE to 13^th Street NE
• Temporary northbound and southbound sidewalk, lane and road closure for installation of manholes, Transformer Enclosures and Tapholes from the 3000 block of 12th Street NE from Irving Street NE toHamlin Street NE
• Temporary eastbound and westbound sidewalk, lane and road closure for installation of manholes, Transformer Enclosures and Tapholes from the 1200-1300 blocks of Girard Street NE from 12^thStreet NE to 14^th Street NE
• Temporary eastbound and westbound sidewalk, lane and road closure for installation of manholes, Transformer Enclosures and Tapholes from the 1200-1300 blocks of Franklin Street NE from 12^thStreet NE to 14^th Street NE
• Temporary eastbound and westbound sidewalk, lane and road closure for installation of manholes, Transformer Enclosures and Tapholes from the 1300 block of Rhode Island Avenue NE from 13^thStreet NE to Montana Avenue NE
• Temporary eastbound and westbound sidewalk, lane and road closures for installation of Tapholes, Transformer Enclosures, conduits, manholes, pavement restoration, including roadway base, sidewalk, curb, and gutter installation from the 1400 to 2400 blocks of Evarts Street NE, from Rhode Island Avenue NE to 26^th Street NE
• Temporary northbound and southbound sidewalk, lane and road closure for installation of Tapholes, Transformer Enclosures, conduits, manholes, pavement restoration, including roadway base, sidewalk, curb, and gutter installation, from the 2400-2600 blocks of 17^th Street NE, from Evarts Street NE toMontana Avenue NE
• Temporary sidewalk, lane and road closure for milling/paving and landscaping from the 1400-1500blocks of Channing Street NE, from 17^Th Street NE to Douglas Street NE
• Temporary sidewalk, land and road closure for pavement restoration, milling/paving, and landscaping for the 2500-2600 blocks of 18^Th Street NE, from Evarts Street NE to Channing Street NE
• Temporary sidewalk, land and road closure for pavement restoration, including roadway base, sidewalk, curb, and gutter installation, and milling/paving and landscaping from the 1800 block of Channing Street NE, from 18^Th Street NE to the dead end
• Temporary eastbound and westbound sidewalk, lane and road closure for installation of Tapholes, Transformer Enclosures, conduits, manholes, pavement restoration, including roadway base, sidewalk, curb, and gutter installation, from the 2000-2400 blocks of Douglas Street, NE, from Queens Chapel Road NE to 24^th Street NE
• Temporary northbound and southbound sidewalk, lane and road closure for installation of Tapholes, Transformer Enclosures, conduits, manholes, pavement restoration, including roadway base, sidewalk, curb, and gutter installation, from the 2400-2500 blocks of Queens Chapel Road NE, from Douglas Street NE to 20^th Street NE
• Temporary northbound and southbound sidewalk, lane and road closure for installation of Tapholes, Transformer Enclosures, conduits, manholes, pavement restoration, including roadway base, sidewalk, curb, and gutter installation, from the 2500-2700 blocks of 22^nd and 24^th Street NE, from Channing Street NE to Franklin Street NE
• Temporary northbound and southbound sidewalk, lane and road closure for installation of Tapholes, Transformer Enclosures, conduits, manholes, pavement restoration, including roadway base, sidewalk, curb, and gutter installation, from the 2700-2900 blocks of 20th Street NE, from Evarts Street NE toHamlin Street NE
• Temporary eastbound and westbound sidewalk, lane and road closure for installation of Tapholes, Transformer Enclosures, conduits, manholes, pavement restoration, including roadway base, sidewalk, curb, and gutter installation, from the 1900-2600 blocks of Franklin Street NE, from 19^th Street NE to27^th Street NE
• Temporary eastbound and westbound sidewalk, lane and road closure for installation of Tapholes, Transformer Enclosures, conduits, manholes, pavement restoration, including roadway base, sidewalk, curb, and gutter installation, from the 2700 block of Vista Street NE, from 27^th Street NE to South Dakota Avenue NE
• Temporary eastbound and westbound sidewalk, lane and road closure for installation of Tapholes, Transformer Enclosures, conduits, manholes, pavement restoration, including roadway base, sidewalk, curb, and gutter installation, from the 2800 block of 26^th Street NE and 27th Street NE, from Franklin Street NE to Hamlin Street NE 

This work is necessary to complete the DC PLUG initiative’s Feeder 14093 project, which involves undergrounding power lines for a more resilient DC.
