Overnight Lane Closures on DC-295 to Impact Traffic Oct. 17
(WASHINGTON, DC) — The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will implement temporary closures of the north and southbound lanes on DC-295, overnight on Friday, October 17, for the removal of the main span of the Nash Street Pedestrian Bridge.
The DC-295 detour will consist of two lane closures of the south bound lanes and full 3 lane closures north bound lanes with intermediate full closures of DC-295 between the hours of 8PM to 5AM. Work will take place adjacent to Nash Street Pedestrian Bridge (between Maude Street NE and Nash Street NE), weather permitting. Please avoid traveling on DC-295 during this time. Closures will be in effect beginning at Route 50 (John Hanson Highway) southbound, and traveling northbound at Benning Road NE. The service roads will be used for detours during these closures.
NORTHBOUND:
- DC-295 all three lanes CLOSED
- Kenilworth Service Road OPEN
- Relief Route starting at Nannie Helen Burroughs Ave NE to Minnesota Ave NE to Sheriff Rd NE to 45th St NE to Minnesota Ave NE to Eastern Ave to Service Road to DC-295 NB
SOUTHBOUND:
- DC-295 one lane OPEN, two lanes CLOSED
- Kenilworth Service Road Detour from Quarles St NE to Anacostia Ave NE to 40th St NE to Nannie Helen Burroughs to DC-295 SB
PERIODIC 20 MINUTE FULL DC-295 NB/SB CLOSURES THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT
The closure will be in place Friday, October 17, between the hours of 8PM and 5AM, weather permitting.
