Temporary Rolling Closure for Bridge Deck Jacking I-395 HOV Bridge Rehabilitation Project September 29 through September 30
(WASHINGTON, DC) —The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily utilize a rolling road closure, on an as-needed basis, to temporarily slow traffic along both lanes of the Northbound I-395 HOV bridge between the hours of 9:00 p.m., Monday, September 29, 2025, until 5:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 30, for bridge deck jacking operations. Traffic will only be slowed via the rolling closure. All scheduled work is weather-dependent.
Traffic controls, including signage, will be in place to guide motorists safely through the work zones. All roadway users are advised to stay alert and be observant of signage and work zones while traveling in this area.
These closures are needed for construction activities associated with the I-395 HOV Bridge Rehabilitation Project. The project consists of rehabilitation of the existing fifteen-span concrete deck slab supported on continuous steel girders, concrete beams, and reinforced concrete substructure piers carrying I-395 HOV Freeway Bridge (Bridge No. 169-1; also known as Rochambeau Memorial Bridge) over Potomac River, approach roadway work at Washington, D.C. (DC), and Arlington County, Virginia (VA) ends, streetlight upgrading work and other repairs.
