Canal Road to Close on Saturday, September 13, for Vegetation Work
(WASHINGTON, DC) —The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is advising motorists that the National Park Service (NPS) will close Canal Road NW between Foxhall Road and Arizona Avenue, including access from Clark’s Place, on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for vegetation cutback work. The Reservoir Road access point will also be closed during this time.
The full closure of Canal Road will be in effect, and traffic control measures, including cones and barricades, will be in place to secure the work zone.
This closure is expected to cause delays. Motorists are encouraged to allow additional travel time and use alternate routes. Commercial vehicle operators should be aware of these restrictions and plan accordingly, as Canal Road will not be accessible during the work period.
