Traffic Advisory: Pennsylvania Avenue & Potomac Avenue SE Intersection Improvement Project New Parking Restrictions Begin Sept. 2
(WASHINGTON, DC) — The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is alerting all stakeholders to expect continued construction and new parking restrictions at the Pennsylvania Avenue and Potomac Avenue SE Intersection, and along Pennsylvania Avenue SE from Potomac Avenue to 15th Street. These parking restrictions are necessary to temporarily relocate the bus stops normally in front of the Potomac Avenue Metro Station, during construction of the circle. The following parking restrictions will be in place 24/7, beginning on September 2, 2025, and ending mid-December 2025, weather permitting:
-
Pennsylvania Avenue SE – No parking will be allowed in the westbound lane of the 1400 block of Pennsylvania Avenue SE (see graphic below)
-
Please Note: The WMATA bus stop for the C37, C15 and D10 buses will be relocated about 160 feet east of the existing metro stop
Please expect delays. Traffic controls, including signage, will be in place to guide motorists, bicyclists, and pedestrians safely through the work zone. All users of the roadway are advised to stay alert and be observant of signage and work zones while traveling in this area.
The completed project will optimize traffic flow and enhance pedestrian safety for neighborhood pedestrians and transit users of the Potomac Avenue Metrorail Station and the numerous area bus stops.
