(WASHINGTON, DC) — The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) advises stakeholders to expect delays on August 20, 2025, due to upcoming sidewalk closures for work related to the DC Power Line Undergrounding (DC PLUG) initiative.
There will be no full roadway closure; however, sidewalks and lanes will be restricted during work hours.
Traffic controls, including signage, will be in place to guide motorists safely through the work zones. All roadway users are advised to stay alert and be observant of signage and work zones while traveling in these areas.
Sidewalk and Lane closures are listed below and take place from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on August 20, 2025.
- Temporary eastbound and westbound road closures for installation of conduits, from the 2800 block of Q Street SE from 28th Place SE to 28th Street SE.
This work is necessary to complete the DC PLUG initiative’s Feeder 14702 project, which consists of undergrounding powerlines for a more resilient DC.
