Sidewalk and Lane Closures for DC PLUG Feeder 14702 Aug. 19 to Aug. 31
(WASHINGTON, DC) — The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) advises stakeholders to expect delays due to upcoming sidewalk closures for work related to the DC Power Line Undergrounding (DC PLUG) initiative.
There will be no full roadway closure; however, sidewalks and lanes will be restricted during work hours.
Traffic controls, including signage, will be in place to guide motorists safely through the work zones. All roadway users are advised to stay alert and be observant of signage and work zones while traveling in these areas.
Sidewalk and Lane closures are listed below and take place on weekdays from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. from August 19-31, 2025.
- Temporary northbound and southbound sidewalks and lane closures for installation of manholes, conduits, roadway and sidewalk restoration, from the 3400-3500 blocks of
- Texas Avenue, SE, fromPennsylvania Avenue SE to Carpenter Street SE
- Temporary eastbound and westbound sidewalks and lane closures for installation of manholes, conduits, roadway and sidewalk restoration, from the 3700 block of S Street SE, from Texas Avenue SE to 38th Street
- Temporary northbound and southbound sidewalks and lane closures for installation of manholes, conduits, roadway and sidewalk restoration, from the 1700-1800 blocks of 38th Street SE, from Pennsylvania Avenue SE to Carpenter Street SE
This work is necessary to complete the DC PLUG initiative’s Feeder 14702 project, which consists of undergrounding powerlines for a more resilient DC.
