ACTION REQUIRED: Renew Your DC Real Estate Salesperson License by August 31, 2025

Dear DC Real Estate Commission Real Estate Salesperson:

DC Real Estate Commission license renewal applications for Real Estate Salesperson must be submitted by August 31, 2025.

Your license can be renewed online using this link (https://govservices.dcra.dc.gov/oplarenewallicense). If you do not already have one, you will first need to create an Access DC account by clicking this Sign Up Link. Enter YOUR email & password.

Real Estate Salesperson licensees shall attest to having completed no less than fifteen (15) hours of acceptable continuing professional education (CPE). The fifteen hours include: three (3) hours of DC Legislative Update, three (3) hours of DC Ethics, three (3) hours of DC Fair Housing, three (3) hours of DC Property Management and three (3) hours of DC General Electives during the term of the license. These CE requirements exclude those applicants seeking the first renewal of a license granted by examination.

The renewal application allows real estate salespersons to transfer to new brokerages. The application will direct the real estate license renewal applicant to the automated transfer application to complete this request.

YOUR CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS COULD BE SUBJECT TO AUDIT FOR UP TO FIVE (5) YEARS. YOU SHOULD RETAIN THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTATION TO VERIFY THE CPE CREDITS YOU HAVE COMPLETED.

The renewal application provides a real estate salesperson an opportunity to upload continuing education completion certificates, however, please note that this is not a requirement for the renewal of your license. It is only an option.
