Connecticut Avenue NW Streetscape Work to Begin Monday, June 23, 2025
(WASHINGTON, DC) — The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is scheduled to begin streetscape work on Connecticut Avenue NW between S Street and California Street starting Monday, June 23, 2025, weather permitting. This marks the first phase of the Connecticut Avenue Streetscape and Deckover Project. The deckover portion of the project is expected to begin in late July.
Construction will begin in the median between S Street and California Street NW, followed by work on the small island between T Street and California Street NW. Sidewalk construction is scheduled to begin in early Fall.
Traffic Impacts:
- At least one lane of traffic will remain open at all times in the construction zone.
- Curbside parking may be restricted during construction hours.
- “EMERGENCY NO PARKING” signs will be posted 72 hours in advance of any parking restrictions.
Work Hours:
- Monday through Friday, from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
Motorists are advised to use caution when traveling through the area and to follow all posted signage. DDOT thanks the public for its patience during this infrastructure improvement project.
