Night Closures on Southbound I-295 Ramp from May 9 to May 13
(WASHINGTON, DC) — The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is alerting all motorists to expect delays and to seek alternate routes May 9 through May 13, 2025 as the Southbound I-295 bridge ramp to Suitland Parkway (EXIT 4) will be closed to all traffic, weather permitting. Southbound I-295 Ramp to Suitland Parkway – Construction activities will begin at 9:00 pm on Friday, May 9, 2025, through 5:00 am on May 12, 2025. During this time, the ramp will be fully closed to all traffic. A signed detour will be in place during this period to direct motorists to Suitland Parkway via Howard Road and Firth Sterling Avenue. Please expect delays. Traffic controls, including signage, will be in place to guide motorists safely through the approved detour. All users of the roadway are advised to stay alert and be observant of signage and work zones while traveling in this area.
