Temporary Road Closures Along 16th Street NW and Piney Branch Parkway Beginning March 24
(WASHINGTON, DC) — The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will implement the following daily temporary road closures along 16th Street NW, between Arkansas Avenue NW and Spring Road NW starting Monday, March 24, 2025.
Work will take place Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting. Work is scheduled as follows:

Week of 3/24
- 16thStreet NW – Two lane closures to facilitate deck repair work.

Week of 3/31
- 16thStreet NW – Two lane closures to facilitate MMA work.
This work is being done for the Rehabilitation of 16th Street Bridge over Piney Branch Parkway Project. Drivers are advised to follow roadway signs to navigate around the construction zone.
Northbound and Southbound traffic will be permitted within work hours. Emergency vehicles and pedestrians will maintain access throughout the construction period.
Traffic controls and signage will be in place to guide motorists and pedestrians safely through the work zone. All roadway users are advised to stay alert and be observant of signage, and work zones while traveling in this area. Drivers are urged to use caution as they travel in these areas, to anticipate moderate delays, and to be mindful of construction personnel.
