Permanent Closure of S St NW between New Jersey Ave and Florida Ave for S Street NW Revitalization Project Begins March 22
(WASHINGTON, DC) — The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is advising all stakeholders to expect a permanent closure of S Street NW between Florida Ave and New Jersey to vehicular traffic beginning March 22, 2025.

S St NW between New Jersey Ave and Florida Ave – The roadway and parking areas along this segment will be permanently closed to motorists beginning March 22, 2025. Pedestrian access will be maintained and promoted, and bike traffic will have designated bike lanes as planned.
Temporary traffic controls will be implemented to help the traveling public adjust to this change, with plans to phase them out over time. Permanent traffic signals, signs, and other necessary infrastructure have been installed to safely guide motorists around this permanent closure.
