Update: Temporary Road Closures Along 16th Street NW Now Begins Nov. 25
(WASHINGTON, DC) — The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will implement a temporary road closure along northbound right lanes of 16th Street NW, between Arkansas Avenue NW and Spring Road NW, beginning Monday, November 25 at 7:00 a.m. through Tuesday, November 26 at 3:30 p.m. for brick gutter installation work, weather permitting. Drivers are advised to follow detour roadway signs to navigate around the construction zone.
Northbound traffic will be permitted outside of work hours. Emergency vehicles, Metro buses and pedestrians will maintain access to the roadway throughout the construction period. Alleys will also be accessible throughout construction hours.
Traffic controls, including traffic control officers and signage, will be in place to guide drivers, bicyclists, and pedestrians safely through the work zone. All roadway users are advised to stay alert and be observant of signage, traffic control officers and work zones while traveling in this area. Drivers are urged to use caution as they travel in these areas, to anticipate moderate delays, and to be mindful of construction personnel.
