Roadway Project on H Street NE From 4th Street NE to 6th Street NE to Begin Monday, November 4, 2024
(WASHINGTON, DC) — The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is scheduled to begin roadway work that includes concrete and resurfacing work on H Street NE from 4th Street NE to 6th Street NE starting on or about Monday, November 4, 2024, concrete work will occur between 9:30 am to 3:30 pm (Daytime work) while milling and paving operations work will occur between 7:00 pm to 5:00 am (Nighttime work), Monday through Friday, weather permitting.
The roadway project is anticipated to be completed by Friday, December 6, 2024. Temporary lane closures are to be expected with one travel lane remaining open. The contractor may work Saturdays (daytime) with prior DDOT approval.
Due to resurfacing work along the corridor, DC Streetcar service hours will be temporarily adjusted as follows:

Mondays - Thursdays: 7:00 am - 9:00 pm

Fridays: 6:00 am - 2:00 am

Saturday: 8:00 am - 2:00 am

Sunday: 8:00 am - 10:00 pm
Adjacent curbside parking may be restricted during the repair work. If so, Emergency No Parking (ENP) signs will be posted at least 72 hours in advance at locations where parking will be restricted.
The emergency “NO PARKING” signs will provide details of the hours of construction operations, dates, duration of the work, and information on the engineer in charge.
Traffic control devices will be in place to warn pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers approaching the work zone(s). Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling near the work locations, be prepared for possible detours and to be observant of the work zone. Cyclists should be prepared to adjust their route accordingly. Metro bus will continue their routes. Flaggers will be available to manage traffic and arrow boards will be utilized, as necessary.
