Traffic Advisory: Night Work to Cause Temporary Lane Closures at North Capitol NE & New York Avenue NE Intersection Oct. 2 to Oct. 3
(WASHINGTON, DC) — The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close lanes at the intersection of New York Avenue NE and North Capitol Street NE, from 7 p.m. on October 2, 2024 through 6 a.m., October 3, 2024, weather permitting. DC Water work will be completed at the intersection which will require temporary lane and sidewalk closures.
The public should expect delays. Traffic controls, including signage, will be in place to guide drivers, bicyclists, and pedestrians safely through the work zone. The public is asked to stay alert and be observant of signage and work zones while traveling in this area.
The completed project will improve overall safety for pedestrians, motorists and cyclists along the corridor and feature Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant intersections, traffic calming measures, improved traffic signal operation, enhanced streetscape and three new green spaces.
