Traffic Advisory: Preventative Bridge Maintenance Lane Closures Sept. 30 - Oct. 11

(WASHINGTON, DC) — The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close lanes on the following roadways for bridge preventative maintenance construction activities beginning Monday Sept. 30 through Oct. 12, 2024, weather permitting.

Operation hours and locations are listed below:

Chain Bridge over Potomac River- BR.0001, single lane closure needed on Chain Bridge. A message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. The lane closure will be between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., weather permitting from Monday, Sept. 30 through Saturday, Oct. 11, 2024.

Key Bridge over Potomac River - BR.0007, single lane closure needed on Key Bridge. A  message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. The lane closure will be between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., weather permitting from Monday, September 30 through Saturday, October 11, 2024.

Pennsylvania Ave over Anacostia River- BR.0054, single lane closure needed on Pennsylvania Ave. A message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. The lane closure will be between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., weather permitting from Monday, Sept. 30 through Saturday, Oct. 11, 2024.

Anacostia Freeway over CSX Railroad- BR.505, single lane closure needed on Anacostia Freeway. A message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. The lane closure will be between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., weather permitting from Monday, Sept. 30 through Saturday, Oct. 11, 2024.

Benning Road over Kenilworth Ave. EB & WB-BR.0503, single lane closure needed on Benning Road. A message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. The lane closure will be between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 PM, weather permitting from Monday, Sept. 30 through Saturday, Oct. 11, 2024.

Michigan Avenue NE over Railroad- BR.596, single lane closure needed on Michigan Avenue. A proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. The lane closure will be between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., weather permitting on Monday, Sept. 30 through Saturday, Oct. 11, 2024.

Franklin Street NE over Railroad- BR.596, single lane closure needed on Franklin Street NE. A proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. The lane closure will be between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., weather permitting from Monday, Sept. 30 through Saturday, Oct. 11, 2024.

7^th Street SW over I-395- BR.1106, single lane closure needed on 7^th Street SW. A message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. The lane closure will be between the hours of 9:30 AM and 3:30 PM, weather permitting from Monday, Sept. 30 through Saturday, Oct. 11, 2024.

Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers approaching the areas. The public should anticipate moderate-to-heavy delays due to the lane closures. Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the inspection personnel.
