Expect Delays on I-295 Southbound August 19 - August 23
(WASHINGTON, DC) — The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close right shoulder lanes on the southern end of I-295 southbound for installation of sign and pole foundations, conduit, and pull boxes from Aug. 19 to Aug. 23, 2024, weather permitting.
Expect temporary delays for the following work:
Right shoulder closure on southbound I-295 from DC Water Facility/Overlook Dr to Truck Weight/Scale Station to install sign and pole foundations, conduit and pull boxes. Work will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting.
Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers approaching the areas. Motorists should anticipate moderate-to-heavy delays due to the lane closures. Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling in the vicinity of the work area and to pay attention to the detour signs that will be in place.
