Start of School Priority Highlight: High-Impact Tutoring
From January 2022 through December 2023, OSSE-supported HIT programs already served 9,996 students. Early evidence is clear - HIT accelerates student learning and improves attendance. We are excited to announce that OSSE will continue to provide evidence-based HIT services to students across the District during the 2024-25 school year.
Three Things to Know:
- This year, OSSE will fund LEAs to launch, strengthen and grow HIT programs. Schools with at least 70 percent of students designated as economically disadvantaged, or schools designated as Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI) schools, are priority schools for the HIT Initiative.
- HIT Grant Dates and Deadlines for LEAs:
- July 17 – Grant Application Window Opened
- Aug. 16 – Notice of Intent to Apply Deadline *Required
- Aug. 28 – Final Application Deadline *Required
- The HIT guide describes the essential components of a strong HIT program and the commitment to the continuous improvement that it takes to achieve the quality that students deserve.

Educators in DC can choose from the following courses.
-
Developing Sustainable Organizational Wellness (designed for school leaders): This 2-hour session will be offered virtually on July 15.
