Temporary Lane Closures for DC PLUG Feeder 15166
(WASHINGTON, DC) —The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) advises stakeholders to expect delays due to upcoming lane closures to install manholes and conduits for the DC Power Line Undergrounding (DC PLUG) initiative. Motorists can expect southbound lane closures in the 2900 to 3000 blocks of Martin Luther King Jr Avenue SE between Malcolm X Avenue SE and Labaum Street SE from May 28 – June 21, 2024. Northbound and southbound lane closures in the 2800 to 2900 blocks of 2nd Street SE between Newcomb Street SW and Malcolm X Avenue SE will take place from May 28 – June 28, 2024, weather permitting.
These closures are required for the safe Installation of manholes and conduits to complete the DC PLUG initiative’s Feeder 15166 project which consists of undergrounding powerlines for a more resilient DC. The lane closures are estimated to last four weeks.
