Temporary Lane Closures in Multiple Locations, January 29 and 30; February 1 and 2, 2024

(WASHINGTON, DC) — The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close single lanes on the following roadways for bridge and tunnel inspections beginning January 29 - February 2, 2024; weather permitting.

Southbound Connecticut Avenue, N.W. over Rock Creek, Rock Creek Parkway, and Cathedral Avenue, right lane closure of Southbound Connecticut Avenue, N.W. over Rock Creek, Rock Creek Parkway, and Cathedral Avenue on Monday, January 29, 2024, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.

Kenilworth Avenue over East Capitol Street, alternating right and left lane closures of Northbound Kenilworth Avenue over East Capitol Street on Monday, January 29, 2024, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.

Northbound Connecticut Avenue, N.W. over Rock Creek, Rock Creek Parkway, and Cathedral Avenue, right lane closure of Northbound Connecticut Avenue, N.W. over Rock Creek, Rock Creek Parkway, and Cathedral Avenue on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.

Potomac Parkway under Ramp from Whitehurst Freeway to I-66, alternating right and left lane closures of Northbound Potomac Parkway under Ramp from Whitehurst Freeway to I-66 followed alternating right and left lane closures of Southbound Potomac Parkway under Ramp from Whitehurst Freeway to I-66 on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.

27^th Street, N.W. under Ramp from Whitehurst Freeway to I-66, alternating right and left lane closures of Northbound 27^th Street under Ramp from Whitehurst Freeway to I-66 followed by alternating right and left lane closures of Southbound 27^th Street under Ramp from Whitehurst Freeway to I-66 on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.

Ramp from Whitehurst Freeway to I-66 over Potomac Parkway and 27^th Street, right lane closure of the Ramp from Whitehurst Freeway to I-66 over Potomac Parkway and 27^th Street on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.

Connecticut Avenue, N.W. over Rock Creek, Rock Creek Parkway, and Cathedral Avenue, coinciding left lane closures of Northbound and Southbound Connecticut Avenue, N.W. over Rock Creek, Rock Creek Parkway, and Cathedral Avenue on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.

Pennsylvania Avenue, S.E. under Anacostia Freeway (I-295), alternating right and left lane closures of Northbound Pennsylvania Avenue, S.E. under Anacostia Freeway (I-295) followed by alternating right and left lane closure of Southbound Pennsylvania Avenue, S.E. under Anacostia Freeway (I-295) on Thursday, February 1 and Friday, February 2, 2024, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting. 

Anacostia Freeway (I-295) over Pennsylvania Avenue, S.E., alternating right and left lane closures  of Eastbound Anacostia Freeway (I-295) over Pennsylvania Avenue, S.E. followed alternating right and left lane closures  of Westbound Anacostia Freeway (I-295) over Pennsylvania Avenue, S.E. on Thursday, February 1 and Friday, February 2, 2024, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting. 

Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers approaching the areas.  Motorists should anticipate moderate-to-heavy delays due to the lane closures.  Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the inspection personnel.
