Temporary Road Closure on the 6700-6900 Blocks of Piney Branch Road for DC PLUG Feeder 15009 Begins January 22 to February 9, 2024
(WASHINGTON, DC) — The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is alerting all stakeholders to expect delays due to upcoming road closures/traffic detours for the installation of conduits on January 22, 2024 – February 9, 2024, weather permitting.
All residents will keep access to their homes. Please adhere to all NO Parking signs.
- On January 22 to February 9, 2024 installation of Conduits will begin in the 6700 to 6900 blocks of Piney Branch Road, NW, between Butternut Street and Whittier Street, NW, Monday – Friday, 9:30 am to 3:30 pm
- Piney Branch Road – Whittier to Aspen (Southbound) – Traffic detoured through Georgia Avenue NW
- Piney Branch Road – Whittier to Aspen (Northbound) – Traffic detoured through Georgia Avenue NW
- Piney Branch Road – Butternut to Aspen (Southbound) – Traffic detoured through 8th Street NW
The road closure is estimated to last three weeks to complete the installation of conduits (weather permitting). The structure of conduits is necessary to complete the DC PLUG initiative’s Feeder 15009 project, which consists of undergrounding powerlines for a more resilient DC.
