Piney Branch Parkway Trail Temporary Closure – Starting October 16, 2023

(WASHINGTON, DC) — The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close the Piney Branch Parkway Trail to pedestrians and bicyclists beginning on or about Monday, October 16, 2023, weather permitting, and will remain in effect for approximately five weeks.

This temporary closure is necessary to construct a new crosswalk and sidewalk ramps at the intersection of Piney Branch Parkway NW and Beach Drive NW as part of the Rock Creek Park Multi-Use Trail and Pedestrian Bridge project.

Traffic controls, including signage, will be in place to detour traffic around the work zone. Pedestrians and bicyclists will be detoured around the Piney Branch Parkway Trail using Park Road NW, 16^th Street NW, and Arkansas Avenue NW.
