DC News Now Anchor and Reporter Anna-Lysa Gayles recently interviewed DDS Chief of Staff Jared Morris about the upcoming Disability Tech Summit. The Summit takes place on Saturday, October 21, 10 am, at the Washington Convention Center. Registration is preferred.
Morris noted that this year's event brings together myriad disability tech innovators and community organizations to connect residents with disabilities to resources and services that can help them enjoy life fully integrated into the community.

Rendever is a virtual reality tool that can reduce depression and loneliness by fostering personal connections among populations experiencing severe limitations with mobility and social interactions.
- Thrive with ARTIE is an app that teaches life, social, and executive function skills to teens and adults with autism. It offers three learning paths to help bridge the gap between in-person support/therapy and real-world practice.

Amicus Brain Innovations uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to transform care management for families of people living with Alzheimer's disease and other dementia.

Awake Labs uses smartwatches to support people with disabilities to live as they choose in the community, find success in the workplace, and maintain meaningful relationships.
Activities hosted by community and government agencies include:
DC Department of Health will provide COVID-19 and flu vaccinations. Immunizations for school-age children will also be available.
The DC Board of Elections will provide voter registration and training on how to use the voting booths.
DC Central Kitchen will showcase its iconic social enterprise that combats hunger and poverty through job training and job creation.
Advocates for Justice and Education will offer information to empower families, youth, and the community to advocate effectively and access education and health services.
