Traffic Advisory: Temporary Lane and Shoulder Closures to Perform Overhead Sign Condition Inspections
(WASHINGTON, DC) — The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close lanes and shoulders on the following roadways to perform overhead sign condition inspections.
The following lane and shoulder mobile closures will be in place daily from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and from 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. from September 5 to 8, 2023, weather permitting. On days and nights during events at Nationals Park and/or Audi Field, there are NO lane closures from two hours before the event's start to two hours after the end of the event.
- I-66 Eastbound and Westbound on Theodore Roosevelt Bridge
- E-Street Expressway Eastbound and Westbound between the entrance ramp to Ohio Drive and the entrance ramp to Virginia Avenue
- I-66 Eastbound and Westbound between exit ramp from Whitehurst Freeway to entrance ramp to Parkway Drive NW
- South Capitol Street between M Street and Virginia Avenue
- I-395 Northbound and Southbound between the exit ramp from D Street and the entrance ramp to I-695
- I-395 Northbound and Southbound on George Mason Memorial Bridge
- I-395 Northbound and Southbound on Rochambeau Memorial Bridge
- I-395 Northbound and Southbound on Arland D. Williams Jr. Memorial Bridge
- I-395 Northbound on 12th Street Expressway entrance ramp
- 16th Street Northbound and Southbound between O Street and M Street
- Nannie Helen Burroughs Avenue NE Eastbound and Westbound between I-295 and Minnesota Avenue NE
- Deane Avenue NE Eastbound and Westbound between I-295 and Kenilworth Terrace NE
- Military Road NW Eastbound and Westbound between 14th Street NW and Joyce Road NW
- South Capitol Street SW Southbound between Defense Boulevard and Overlook Avenue SW
Motorists are urged to use caution as they travel in these areas, to anticipate moderate delays, and to be mindful of inspection personnel. Variable Message Boards will be in place to alert the traveling public.
