June 28, 2023: DC AIR QUALITY - CODE ORANGE: A Code Orange has been issued for today, June 28, 2023. This means that air pollution concentrations within the region may become unhealthy for sensitive groups.

Sensitive groups include children, the elderly, and people suffering from asthma, heart disease, or other lung diseases. The effects of air pollution can be minimized by limiting time outdoors.

Older adults (over age 65), children, pregnant women, and those who have heart disease, asthma, or other chronic lung diseases should consider wearing an N95 mask for additional protection while outdoors.
