Temporary Lane Closures for Routine Maintenance  through March 25, 2023

(WASHINGTON, DC) — The District Department of Transportation (DDOT)=will temporarily close single lanes on the following roadways for bridge and tunnel inspections and maintenance:

 South Capitol Street under I-695/Southeast Freeway, alternating right and left lane closures of Southbound South Capitol Street under Southeast Freeway followed by alternating right and left lane closures of Northbound South Capitol Street under Southeast Freeway on Tuesday, March 21^st, 2023, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.

Ramp from Northbound South Capitol Street to Westbound I-695/Southeast Freeway or Northbound I-395 under I-695/Southeast Freeway, alternating right and left lane closures of the ramp from Northbound South Capitol Street to Westbound I-695/Southeast Freeway or Northbound I-395 under I-695/Southeast Freeway on Wednesday, March 22^nd, 2023, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.

I-695/Southwest Freeway over South Capitol Street, alternating right and left lane closures of Eastbound I-695/Southwest Freeway over South Capitol Street followed by alternating right and left lane closures of Westbound I-695/Southwest Freeway over South Capitol Street on Friday, March 24^th, 2023, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.

Theodore Roosevelt Bridge Ramps C, D and E to/from Rte 110- BR.1200- Theodore Roosevelt Bridge Ramps C, D & E to/from Rte 110- partial ramp closures needed for both Eastbound Ramp C and Westbound Ramp D and E. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. The ramp will remain open to traffic but will be partially closed to facilitate work underneath the ramps. Partial ramp closures will be between the hours of 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM, weather permitting on Monday, March 13 through Saturday, March 25, 2023.

Minnesota Avenue over East Capitol Street- BR.0040, single lane closures needed on Minnesota Avenue. A proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closure will be between the hours of 9:30 AM and 3:30 PM, weather permitting Monday, March 13 through Saturday, March 25, 2023.

SB I-395/ 14^th Street over Potomac River- BR.1133, single lane closures needed on 14^th Street Bridge. A proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closure will be between the hours of 9:30 AM and 3:30 PM, weather permitting Monday, March 13 through Saturday, March 25, 2023.

Ramp to Benning Road over Kenilworth Avenue SB- BR.104  single lane closures needed on the on ramp to Benning Road and underneath on I-295 SB.Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closures will be between the hours of 9:30 AM and 3:30 PM, weather permitting on Monday, March 13 through Saturday, March 25, 2023.

Pennsylvania Avenue over Anacostia River- BR.0054, single lane closures needed on Pennsylvania Avenue. A proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closures will be between the hours of 9:30 AM and 3:30 PM, weather permitting on. Monday, March 13 through Saturday, March 25, 2023.

Benning Road over Kenilworth Ave- BR.503-  single lane closures needed on Benning Road. A proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closures will be between the hours of 9:30 AM and 3:30 PM, weather permitting on Monday, March 13 through Saturday, March 25, 2023.

Chain Bridge Road over Potomac River and C & O Canal- BR.0001, single lane closures needed on Chain Bridge Road. A proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closures will be between the hours of 9:30 AM and 3:30 PM, weather permitting on Monday, March 13 through Saturday, March 25, 2023.

L’Enfant Plaza over D Street, SW- BR.1114, single lane closures needed on L’Enfant Plaza. L’Enfant exit ramp will be closed to facilitate work underneath the ramp and detour will be in place. A proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closures will be between the hours of 9:30 AM and 3:30 PM, weather permitting on Monday, March 13 through Saturday, March 25, 2023.

T Street over North Capitol Street- BR.0049, single lane closures needed on both T Street and North Capitol Street. A proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closures will be between the hours of 9:30 AM and 3:30 PM, weather permitting on. Monday, March 13 through Saturday, March 11, 2023.

9^th Street SW over I-395 - BR.1107, single lane closures needed on 9^th Street. A proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closures will be between the hours of 9:30 AM and 3:30 PM, weather permitting on. Monday, March 13 through Saturday, March 25, 2023.

I-695 Southeast Freeway over Virginia Ave- BR.1109, single lane closures needed on Southeast Freeway. A proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closure will be between the hours of 9:30 AM and 3:30 PM, weather permitting Monday, March 13 through Saturday, March 25, 2023.

Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers approaching the areas.  Motorists should anticipate moderate-to-heavy delays due to the lane closures.  Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the inspection personnel.
