DDOT Traffic Advisory: Temporary Lane Closures for Routine Maintenance through February 24, 2023

Temporary Lane Closures for Routine Maintenance  through February 24, 2023

(WASHINGTON, DC) — The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close single lanes on the following roadways for bridge and tunnel inspections:

Benning Road over Kenilworth Avenue and CSX Railroad, a right lane closure of Westbound Benning Road over Kenilworth Avenue and CSX Railroad followed by a right lane closure of Eastbound Benning Road over Kenilworth Avenue and CSX Railroad on Saturday, February 18^th, 2023, during the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM, weather permitting.

11^th Street, S.E., Martin Luther King Avenue, S.E. over Anacostia River and Anacostia Drive, a right lane closure of Northbound 11^th Street, S.E., Martin Luther King Avenue, S.E., over Anacostia River and Anacostia Drive followed by left lane closure of Southbound 11^th Street, S.E., Martin Luther King Avenue, S.E. over Anacostia River and Anacostia Drive on Tuesday, February 21^st, 2023, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.

North Capitol Street and (Ward 5) under T Street and Rhode Island Avenue, a right lane closure of Northbound North Capitol Street under T Street and Rhode Island Avenue followed by a right lane closure of Southbound North Capitol Street under T Street and Rhode Island Avenue on Tuesday, February 21^st, 2023 during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.

I-695 Southbound over Anacostia River, a left lane closure of Southbound I-695 over Anacostia River followed by right lane closure of Southbound I-695 over Anacostia River on Wednesday, February 22^nd, 2023, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.

North Capitol Street and (Border of Ward 5 and 6) under New York Avenue, a right lane closure of Northbound North Capitol Street under New York Avenue followed by a right lane closure of Southbound North Capitol Street under New York Avenue on Wednesday, February 22^nd, 2023, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.

I-695 Northbound over Anacostia River, a right lane closure of Northbound I-695 over Anacostia River followed by left lane closure of Northbound I-695 over Anacostia River on Thursday, February 23^rd, 2023, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.

Connecticut Avenue, N.W. over Klingle Valley, a right lane closure of Northbound Connecticut Avenue, N.W. over Klingle Valley followed by right lane closure of Southbound Connecticut Avenue, N.W. over Klingle Valley on Friday, February 24^th, 2023, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.

Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers approaching the areas.  Motorists should anticipate moderate-to-heavy delays due to the lane closures.  Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the inspection personnel.
