Single Lane Closure on Southbound Connecticut Avenue NW Beginning January 25 Through April 26, 2023
(WASHINGTON, DC) — The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close single right lane along southbound side of Connecticut Ave, N.W., between Newark Street N.W. and Porter St N.W. beginning Wednesday, January 25th, 2023, through Wednesday, April 26th, 2023, weather permitting.
As part of the Cleveland Park Streetscape and Drainage project, on Wednesday, January 25, weather permitting, the contractor will begin sidewalk construction along the West side of Connecticut Ave between Newark St NW & Porter St NW. The single southbound parking lane of Connecticut Avenue from Newark St NW to Porter St NW will be closed 24 hours a day. Access to businesses along the project corridor will be maintained, and water-filled jersey barriers will be in place along the curb lane to provide a detour route for pedestrians. This work will continue for approximately 3 months.
Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers approaching the areas. Motorists should anticipate heavy delays during this period due to the lane closure. Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and observe the working crew personnel while traveling through these locations.
