Temporarily Lane Closures for the Rehabilitation of 16th St. Bridge over Piney Branch Pkwy NW Project through Friday, January 28, 2023
(WASHINGTON, DC) — The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) anticipates the implementation of the following lane closures on the 16th Street Bridge and on the Piney Branch Parkway, NW (from Arkansas Avenue, NW to Beach Drive), as part of the on-going 16th Street Bridge rehabilitation work, beginning on Monday, January 02, 2023, and to last through Friday, January 28, 2023, weather permitting to necessitate the following:
Monday 01/02 through Friday 01/28
Piney Branch Pkwy NW:

Monday through Friday – Temporary one lane closures from 10am-2pm as needed to offload materials/equipment and perform drainage work.
16th Street NW:

Monday through Friday – Temporary curb lane closures as needed during off peak hours

The west side walk will remain closed – (on going Sidewalk Detour); Pedestrian are advised to use the East Sidewalk ONLY for north-south access across the bridge and be mindful of advance warning signs giving directions for the lane diversion around the bridge.
Motorists are urged to obey traffic advisory instructions and use caution as they travel in these areas, to anticipate moderate delays, and to be mindful of construction personnel.
