DDOT Traffic Advisory: Temporarily Lane Closures in Multiple Locations for Routine Maintenance Through Thursday, December 22, 2022

Temporarily Lane Closures in Multiple Locations for Routine Maintenance Through Thursday, December 22, 2022

(WASHINGTON, DC) — The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close single lanes on the following roadways for bridge and tunnel inspections:

South Capitol Street under Malcom X Avenue, S.E., alternating right and left lane closures of Northbound South Capitol Street under Malcom X Avenue, S.E. followed by alternating right and left lane closures of Southbound South Capitol Street under Malcom X Avenue, S.E. on Tuesday, December 20^th, 2022, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.

Northbound Suitland Parkway under the Pedestrian Bridge near Stanton Road, S.E., a left lane closure of Northbound Suitland Parkway under the Pedestrian Bridge near Stanton Road, S.E. on Tuesday, December 20^th, 2022, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.

Chain Bridge Road over Potomac River- BR.0001 - single lane closures needed on Chain Bridge Road. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closures will be between the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting on Wednesday, December 14 through Thursday, December 22, 2022.

Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers approaching the areas.  Motorists should anticipate moderate-to-heavy delays due to the lane closures.  Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the inspection personnel.
