Howard University Crane Operations and Anticipated Road and Alley Closures
(WASHINGTON, DC) — The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is alerting the public that a permit has been issued allowing Howard University, Facility Operations to close an alley between 6th Street NW and Bryant Street on November 5, 2022, at 5:00 am, weather permitting.
All closures will be re-opened by 6:00 am Sunday, November 6, 2022, unless unforeseen construction problems occur.
Traffic controls will be in place to safely guide all roadway users through the work zone. Motorists should expect delays due to lane closures and are advised to stay alert and be observant of signage and road work crews while traveling in this area ( see detour maps)
These closures are required for construction activities associated with the installation of a new central utility plant at Howard University, providing more efficient electric and steam services for most buildings on Howard's campus.
DDOT encourages all motorists to travel safely through this construction area and follow all detour signs.
