Generation Hope

Is seeking to hire a

Grants and Foundations Manager

 

Job Description:

The Grants and Foundations Manager works with the Director of Development to secure

funding from institutional donors and ensure high-quality stewardship of those donors.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as principal writer for Generation Hope’s foundation and government grant proposals and reports, totaling approximately $2,000,000 in funding received per year.
  • Maintain a detailed grant calendar to ensure timely submissions of high-quality grant proposals and reports. Provide other staff ample time to provide materials, data, financial statements, and revisions as necessary for successful completion of all proposals and reports.
  • In partnership with the Director of Development, manage relationships with foundation representatives via email, meetings, and site visits.
  • Collaborate with the Program Team to compile program metrics, success stories, and program needs.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Team to compile, track, and report on grant budgets.
  • Collaborate with the Communications Manager to ensure consistent language, statistics, and resources. Work with the Communications Manager to identify opportunities to engage and recognize foundation partners through our communications efforts.

Qualifications and desired skills

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience, with a strong preference for at least some grant

writing and foundation fundraising experience.

  • Exceptional writer and editor.

Qualifications:

This position is designated as a “Fire and EMS Cadet” and as such is a temporary position used as a recruitment and training position for young residents of the District of Columbia to become responsible for improving the life of residents of the District of Columbia by providing the most effective and efficient services in protecting lives and property. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Fire and EMS Cadet is assigned to the DC Fire and EMS Training Academy and will complete the full complement of Firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician training within a one-year period under the direction of the Training Academy. Fire and EMS Cadets will be responsible for assisting at special events, including fire prevention and safety activities that fall within their duty hours.

Qualification and Education:

Must be a U.S. citizen at the time of application.

Must be between the ages of 18 – 21 as of the date of application closing.

Must possess a valid Driver's, Provisional License or Lerner’s Permit as of the date of application closing.

Must be a DC Public, Public Charter or Private High School Graduate, with a Diploma or GED issued by a recognized department of education.
