Special Permit for Presidential Inauguration
The Department of For-Hire Vehicles (DFHV) will grant Special Permits to for-hire vehicles operators to allow transporting of passengers within the District during the upcoming 59th Presidential Inauguration. Special Permits are required only for vehicles of licensed operators not currently regulated by DFHV.
The Special Permit will be applicable from Friday, January 15, 2021, until Thursday, January 21, 2021, at 5:00 p.m. Applications are open now and the deadline to apply is Monday, January 4, 2021 by 4:30 p.m. The Special Permit fee is $150.00 per vehicle. All payments will be made online.
In addition to payment, applicants MUST upload the following with the application:
- Proof of current vehicle registration,
- Proof of insurance, and
- Documentation of licensed or registered limousine or sedan in home jurisdiction.
- In addition, if the vehicle is a rental, a copy of the rental agreement must be provided.
