PROGRAM ANALYST

Job Summary:

The mission of the District of Columbia's Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency (HSEMA) is to lead the District's effort to prevent, protect against, respond to, and recover from natural and man-made emergencies by coordinating all planning and preparedness efforts and facilitating a common operating picture during events.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The incumbent reports to the Chief of Staff or designee, who defines overall objectives to be accomplished. The incumbent exercises, sound, independent judgment in dealing with complex and sensitive issues. The incumbent keeps management informed of any program management matters.

Qualifications and Education:

The incumbent must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression. Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the position which has equipped the individual with the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.

Licenses and Certifications:

Certified Project Manager or Certified Program Manager, IAEM Certified Emergency manager, or state-level emergency management certification is preferred.

MEDICAL ASSISTANT

Online and in-person classes to start your medical career

Train to be a Medical Assistant! Briya Public Charter School offers a Medical Assistant training program. The 12-15 month program prepares you for a career as a Registered Medical Assistant, working alongside doctors and nurses in clinics and hospitals. 2020-2021 classes will be both online and in-person.

To qualify for the Medical Assistant training program, you must:

  • Live in Washington, D.C.
  • Have a high school diploma or GED

Program Details:

Classes will be a mix of online and in-person through the 2020-21 school year

The course is a 20-hour per week commitment for 12-15 months, including coursework, externships, and summer test prep sessions
