 ACCESS YOUR RIGHTS INFORMATIONAL CONFERENCE

Description & Agenda

Access Your Rights:

An informational discussion on the rights of individuals who are deaf or hard of

hearing regarding proper access to entertainment venues

This conference involves the legal rights granted under the ADA to individuals who are deaf and hard of hearing and require access services at entertainment venues such as theaters, movie-plexes, and sports arenas/stadiums. We will discuss what venues are required to follow federal regulations, what those regulations entail, and how individuals can ensure that their local venues provide these services. We will also discuss the new legislation up for debate that could have major effects on the ADA and an individual’s right to seek legal remedies under the ADA. This topic also involves ways in which the disability rights community can help influence the outcome.
