Use this online tool to view imagery at angles or directly above areas in DC
The DC Oblique Image Viewer (provided by Sanborn) displays multiple aerial views of most locations in the District. An array of five digital cameras were used to capture oblique (45 degree angle with ground) and nadir (straight-down) views, enabling users to visualize, print, measure, and analyze the sides of a structure or ground feature. The uses for oblique imagery are growing; in DC government it is most heavily used in the areas of first response/emergency management, urban planning, and property assessment.
Start using the viewer by visiting: http://oblique.sanborn.com/washington_dc/. Help documentation is available at http://oblique.sanborn.com/washington_dc/Help.aspx.
Questions about the DC Oblique Viewer, such as accessing it through API, should be submitted to gisgroup@dc.gov.
