Why Do You Serve?
Tell Your Story! The Public Employees Roundtable (PER) is soliciting videos of current and former public employees to help educate the public and Congress about why you choose/chose to serve in the public sector as a part of Public Service Recognition Week (PSRW).
To participate, create a video from two minutes not to exceed five minutes in length for posting on YouTube. Videos can be professionally created or made via your phone or other recording device. Create an individual video or one with a team of other government employees. Please remember, if you are a government employee, these videos should be made on personal time.
Answer as many of the questions below as you can in 2‐5 minutes:
What drew you to public service? Was there a particular person or event that sparked your interest?
If you left a private sector career to serve, what spurred that decision?
If you are a long‐time public servant, why do you continue to serve?
What accomplishment are you most proud of in your public service career?
What advice would you offer to a young person thinking about entering public service?
If you were speaking directly to the American people, what is the most important thing you’d want them
to know about public service and/or public servants?
Who in public service do you most admire? Why?
Once you create your video, please email it to publicemployeesroundtable@gmail.com. Videos will be posted on the Public Employee Roundtable (PER) YouTube channel, proudly sponsored by Federal Times, and promoted on PER’s Facebook and Twitter feeds
