Since 1985, the first week of May has been designated as Public Service Recognition Week. The event, organized by the Public Employees Roundtable, honor the men and women who serve our nation as federal, state, county and local government employees.

2018 YGL Mentoring Program Taking Applications

YGL will be accepting applications for a six-month mentoring program starting on May 6th. The program pairs YGL members with a member of the US Senior Executive Service.  For more information and how to apply, please contact YGL's Chief Learning Officer,  Lenka Koss @lkoss@younggov.org.

New Emerging Leader  Online Program

The Partnership for Public Service is offering a new online leadership development program called Preparing to Lead. Participants who are early in their government careers (GS 7-11 or equivalent) practice strategies to help them become more effective employees and develop critical leadership skills they will be able to use throughout their careers. This five-month, online program will include sessions on emotional intelligence, managing conflict and creative problem-solving to name a few.
