We had a great turnout for the YGL Spring BBQ, thank you all for attending, here are a few pictures from the event.

The next upcoming BBQ will be scheduled for the first week of the playoffs, which currently is the start of August 11th (if we can avoid anymore bad weather).  Anyone wanting to help is welcome, please contact anyone on the YGL Denver board or James Smith. Thank you very much in advance!

    2017 Colorado Leadership Foundations Program

Registration for the CLFP Class of 2017, which will commence in September 2016, opened.  To register please fill out the Class of 2017 Registration Form (it is available in MS Word format). Anyone who believes they would benefit from the program is welcome to sign up.

The inaugural CLFP Class of 2016 was very well received by participants. All forty-five (45) participants from Track 1 and Track 2 completed program evaluations on graduation day in early March. In response to the question: “Please rate the extent to which you would recommend the CLFP to others” with “Very Great Extent” being 5 on a five-point scale, 4.9 was the average rating. Based on this and other highly favorable evaluation ratings and comments it appears that they exceeded their own high expectations for this new program. They expect the next program will be even better.

    Batgirl

    SEX: Female
    BREED: Rat Terrier Mix
    AGE: 1-1.5 years old
    WEIGHT: 31 pounds
    AFFECTION LEVELS: High
    BEST QUALITIES: LOVES Everyone

Nanananana....Batgirl!! This precious girl was found surviving on the streets in a not so great part of town.  Despite this, she is an adorable, very sweet, and playful dawg who loves all people and other dawgs too! Batgirl is house broken, crate trained, has very good manners in the house, and walks well on a leash if she feels safe and comfortable.  She is able to climb a 4' chain link fence if tempted by those pesky squirrels...so a wooden fence would be her best bet.  Batgirl is up to date on all her vaccines and will be spayed by the time of adoption.

To adopt Batgirl, or to find out more about adopting a dog from My Fairy Dawg Mother Rescue, head over to http://www.dogrescuecolorado.org/

    Urban Peak

YGL is looking for more volunteers to help make and serve dinner the 3rd Wednesday of the month at Urban Peak. It is a homeless shelter for teens. They are required to go to school or have a job. It’s not just a place to hang out, as some may think. There are a group of federal employees and their friends/family that get there around 5 and are usually done by 7 pm. There is no dishwashing or cleanup involved. The teens take care of that. They are always so appreciative of what the volunteers do. It’s a wonderful way to feel like you are making a difference in a young persons life.

Volunteering does not commit you to participating every month, you can come and help as your schedule allows.

The group volunteers at the S. Acoma St location in Denver. If you are interested in helping please contact Michael Nestlehut @ Michael.Nestlehut@onrr.gov

Want to join a committee? Have ideas that you want heard? Let us know! Contact YGL Denver at YGLDenver@gmail.com
